Don’t forget the Dog! Enjoy a Dog Friendly Holiday in South Devon.
07 September 2016
Holidays should be special for everyone… A time to reflect on fond memories, indulge in some luxury and spend time together as a family. Families come in all shapes and sizes but we know there’s always one special someone that you’re keen to bring along to enjoy the break… your dog!
Here at Cofton Holidays we offer dog friendly holidays that mean you can include the family dog (or dogs if you’re lucky to have more than one), in those moments that you’ll remember in years to come.
From accommodation through to dedicated on-site dog friendly areas, we ensure you can spend as much time together as possible, embracing the beautiful scenery surrounding the park. But it’s not just about what we offer on site, we’re surrounded by an array of attractions that allow dogs – so we thought we’d give you a taster to get you excited about coming to our glorious holiday park in Devon.
Oh… blissful sandy beaches. Devon is famous for them! By taking just a short walk through our magical woodland you can reach Dawlish Warren Beach – 1.5 miles of sand and beautiful views to enjoy. Dogs are allowed on the beach all year round past groyne 3, they are allowed on the beach up to groyne 3 only from 1st October to 31st March. Check out this guide for all the important stuff.
But if you’re feeling more ambitious and want to venture further into South Devon, we’re so fortunate to have lots of other beaches that will ensure your dog has the time of its life! Run free across the sand, throw balls, roll around and lose hours laughing and embracing the fresh sea air. Don’t just take our word for it, Visit South Devon have listed their Top 10 Beaches right here.
“Why does watching a dog be a dog fill one with happiness?”
Did someone say Walkies?
There are so many fantastic dog walking areas in South Devon. We provide a dedicated dog walking field within the park, so forget the lead and let the dogs run free – the grass is on us. Throughout the area there are country and coast paths for dog walks close to the park and you can enjoy stunning views of the Exe Estuary by walking through our Eastdon Estate.
A cosy home for you, the family and your dog
We have two brand new dog friendly holiday homes for 2016, which come with a dog matt, bowl and bedding. Our dog friendly caravans are specially cleaned for every guest, as we bet you’ll be getting up to some exciting outdoor adventures during your stay with us.
There’s no need to worry about where to eat either, our on-site dog friendly pub The Swan welcomes your dog to join you for a tasty dish either inside or outside on the patio. You’ll find fresh water available and if your pooch is extra well behaved there’s even special treats for them on the bar!
Cofton Holidays is ideal for a dog friendly holiday park all year round, set in 80 acres of lush scenery where for your dog, the days are never long enough with lamp posts to sniff, balls to chase and sometimes mud puddles to roll around in, it’s not easy fitting it all in.

I just want to say how impressed my fellow Motorhomers and Caravaners were with the welcome and service we received during our stay. Staff in the office were polite and helpful at all times. Scott the restaurant manager was most accommodating when I enquired about reserving space for 25 to 30 of us for lunch after a walk. The service in the restaurant was speedy the food hot and varied. We were very pleased with the standards. Staff in the restaurant were cheerful and polite and helped make our meal most enjoyable. We had such a good time that we will be returning again next year for our Xmas Rally.
The best holiday park we've been to in our motorhome. Our children aged 2 and 4 loved it. Great facilities, entertainment and activities in one of the best parts of Devon!

We usually camp 3 times a year and hire a caravan after the Christmas break at Cofton, and will continue to do so. We thoroughly recommend staying there. Great for families or just the 2 of you.
