Family Fishing Coaching

Entry charge: £9.50 per hour


Trust us, there's nothing like that feeling when you set up next to the lakes and cast your reel out - eagerly awaiting a nibble from the prize catch! We want everybody to enjoy our luscious lakes, but we know how daunting it can be if you're a newbie!

That's why we've organised Fishing Tuition with our resident fishing professor! He'll walk you through everything from setting up the rod, to what bait to use! We can't guarantee a catch, but we'll do our very best!

Fishing Tuition will be running on the following days throughout the Summer Holidays:

Monday, 10am - 4pm.

Wednesday, 10am - 4pm.

You will be taught…
• how to bait your rod
• about basic rod setup
• how to remove the hook from the fishes mouth
• the rules and safety of our lakes

See reception to book in with our fishing coach to get the best head start! For only £9.50 per person we provide everything you need for a days fishing.
Offer includes
• 20 mins one-to-one tuition and the remainder of the day fishing with help when required.
• All equipment (set up) and bait
• Permission to fish
Start times available every 20 mins from 10am -1pm, each session is limited to 2 people. Fishing usually concludes by 4pm.

Learning to fish is a family activity, children under 16 must be supervised by a guardian at all times.
Applicants must complete a registration form available from reception.
No rod licence required on this event, however anglers over the age of 16 must purchase a rod licence from the environment agency in future.. see… https://www.gov.uk/fishing-licences/buy-a-fishing-licence

By car

It's easy to reach Cofton Country by car. Leave the M5 motorway at junction 30. Take the A379 sign-posted Dawlish and after about 30 minutes, having passed through Kenton, Starcross and the small harbour village of Cockwood, the Park is half a mile on the left.

By public transport

The nearest train stations are Starcross, Dawlish Warren and Dawlish.  From there you will be able to catch a bus which passes our entrance.  For further advise on public transport please contact our reception team who will be happy to advise you on your best option.
