Things to do in Devon in the rain

14 February 2019

Come rain or shine Cofton really is the ultimate destination. On the rainiest days you can still enjoy our range of great attractions and activities all here for you to enjoy on-site. From ten-pin bowling and arcade games to swimming or taking a break in our café, you won’t have trouble keeping the family amused. If however you do get itchy feet, there are many indoor attractions in the nearby area, all within reach of a short car ride. So whether you decide to stay close or travel a little further there is no better destination than Cofton.

Here at Cofton

If you fancy a swim, you can take a splash in the heated indoor pool, it’s open all year round to Cofton residents for only a small fee.

We also have a superb amusements arcade that will keep the children happy for many hours. Here you’ll find a large selection of modern video games, prize games and fruit machines.

We have some of the latest video game titles such as Star Wars, Buzzy Bee 2 and Bullion Bars £5 Jackpot. The winners of our prize games will not be disappointed either as they can win cuddly characters from popular children’s films.

If you’re all feeling a little competitive, then adults and children alike can enjoy a game of 10 pin bowling, take each other on at air hockey or play a few rounds of American pool.

For hungry parents and grandparents, why not enjoy some refreshments on our café? We offer a selection of good food and drink that you can enjoy whatever the weather!

Out and about…

If you feel the need to explore and take a day out. A short drive away is Crealy Great Adventure Park, a real haven for the kids when the bad weather rolls into view. Featuring over 60 rides and a variety of animals, many of which are under shelter, the park offers great family fun away from the wind and rain! For more information on tickets, attractions and opening times, go to www.crealy.co.uk/devon.

The House of Marbles is a place where children can enjoy playing with a selection of classic toys and games. They can also (as the name suggests) play with marbles! You can visit their museum and working glassworks where you can see toys and crafts of yesteryear. If you’re hungry after all that, then you can sample some tea and cake at the café and restaurant.

Sporty families can take a trip to Exeter where they can enjoy a day at the Quay Climbing Centre. Ideal for all family members over the age of 7, you can tackle the purpose made indoor climbing walls. All the equipment is provided and the centre has instructors on hand to ensure you undertake your first climb safely.

So there you have it, even if the heavens open and the rain hammers down all day, it won’t ruin your holiday. Both at Cofton and the surrounding area, you’ll find a wealth of indoor attractions that will keep your family amused all day long!
